Bluelight is seeking a senior backend-focused software engineer to join a fast-paced, consulting-oriented team. You will design, implement, and scale low-latency API services in AWS, build secure multi-tenant systems, and collaborate across frontend and backend domains.

You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, participating in thorough testing, migrations, and CI/CD. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and the role supports remote work with overlap to US business hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations.
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables.

Requirements

• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed
