Main Responsibilities:

• Manage and advise on export and import requirements and obligations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and maintain certifications such as OEA, C-TPAT, VAT, and IMMEX Annex 24.
• Develop and monitor transport and broker budgets.
• Create and implement operating procedures for import/export controls across functional areas.
• Manage relationships with customs brokers and ensure compliance with US customs regulations.
• Identify and project tariff cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor and report KPIs related to import/export activities.
• Conduct risk analysis of trade policies and initiatives.
• Maintain cost-effective relationships with brokers, forwarders, and transport providers.
• Assist in customs audits and provide foreign trade consulting and coaching.
• Oversee transportation tasks in accordance with purchasing policies.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Business Administration or Foreign Trade, with relevant customs operations experience.
• Strong management skills, discipline, and rigor.
• Proficiency in SAP management.
• Fluent in English.
• Technical knowledge in logistics and foreign trade compliance.
• Experience leading import compliance programs in multi-site organizations within the consumer products industry.
• Knowledge of IMMEX regulations, IVA certifications, annex 24 and 31, and law regulations including SAT audits.
• Experience managing C-TPAT and OEA programs.
• ERP experience, especially SAP, in a manufacturing setting (e.g., Ixtaczoquitlan plant, Mexico).
