An energy firm located in Altamira, Tamaulipas is seeking a maintenance technician for LNG facilities. Responsibilities include developing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting electrical systems. Candidates should have an Electrical Technician Diploma and 3-5+ years of relevant experience in LNG or industrial settings. Bilingual candidates are preferred, and the position requires a rotation schedule.
Offshore
• Embrace and encourage a safety culture that results in Zero harm to people, the facility or the Company’s reputation.
• Supporting the development of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Procedures and ensuring its compliance
• Ensure continuous availability and high levels of equipment functionality and reliability to the facility
• Ensure that Work Orders are properly prioritized, permitted and executed in a safe and effective manner
• Work collaboratively with discipline resources and support services to ensure understanding of tasks to be performed, risk awareness and permitting requirements
• Support the development and implementation of the spare parts evaluation and selection.
• Support Planning and Scheduling efforts to ensure safe and efficient use of personnel and other Company resources.
• Ensure high level of compliance to maintenance schedule with focus on equipment relative to safety, critical elements and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that the Area Maintenance execution backlogs are kept to target levels
• Determine non-stock material needs and initiate purchasing process
• Support Maintenance Supervisor and OIM in achieving stated goals and targets.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
• Electrical Technician Diploma, associate’s degree, or similar qualification.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience working in an LNG, oil & gas, power generation, or industrial facility.
• Proven experience working with HV/MV systems, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance.
Certifications:
• Must have: NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training, OSHA 30-Hour Certification, HV/MV electrical systems training, First Aid/CPR (recommended)
• Nice to have: CompEx, NETA Certification Software:
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, and HMI for monitoring electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings (e.g., single-line diagrams, schematics)
• Experience with CMMS software for tracking maintenance work orders (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
Tools:
• Competence with diagnostic tools: Megger, primary/secondary injection testers, power analyzers, thermal imaging, etc
• Proficient in operating and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motors, and generators. Technical Skills:
• Expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Familiarity with power distribution systems in LNG plants, including load management and system protection.
• Proficiency in performing electrical testing (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, relay testing, Doble testing).
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, IEEE, IEC, OSHA regulations).
• Understanding of Hazardous Area Classifications (ATEX, NEC, IEC) and intrinsically safe equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
• Strong understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Knowledge of electrical safety audits and risk assessments.
• Experience in LNG safety protocols, cryogenic systems, and hazardous environments.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing electrical issues.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Clear communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with operations teams.
• Adaptability to work under pressure in critical LNG operations
