Financial Cost Analyst

Job Title: Financial Cost Analyst

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Plant Controller

Summary

The Financial Cost Analyst assists with reporting, budgeting, controlling, and accounting activities of HARTING, Inc. and its US-based affiliated sales company by performing duties such as BOM calculations, variance analysis, record keeping of transactions, and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information and prepare reports on the company's financial position using MG Excel, SAP BW & BPC.
• Provide management with reports on factors affecting prices and profitability.
• Support supply chain analysis related to warehousing, freight, duty, VAT, inventory, and reserves.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting activities, including audits.
• Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts, reporting variances as needed.
• Document internal processes as required.
• Support monthly closing activities and variance analysis using SAP.
• Enter journal entries, process accounts payable vouchers, and match to purchase orders and receipts.
• Apply cash receipts to customer accounts and handle AP/AR filing.
• Set up new vendors and customers.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The following are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited university.
• 1-3 years of experience assisting a Plant Controller or working in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• SAP experience, including Cost Center module, Business Warehouse, and Planning & Consolidation, is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, journals, technical procedures, or regulations.
