Senior Financial Analyst, Global Ledger Center of GM

Position Description

We currently have an opening for an experienced financial analyst. As part of the team you will gain exposure and experience working with cross-functional teams, with support and flexibility to manage and develop your career. More specifically in the position you will:

  • Review and enrich data governance requests for new or changed data elements for the Global Ledger
  • Assist with daily Global Ledger error monitoring and resolution
  • Investigate the root cause and eliminate errors in financial transaction submissions from local ledgers
  • Perform various Global Ledger (GAAP, Statutory, Tax ledger) close functions and report summations on a monthly cadence
  • Streamline and document aspects of the data governance process to govern data elements within the Global Ledger
  • Present at monthly or specific timed meetings
  • Perform UAT testing for enhancements and process changes
  • Assist Manager in managing multiple efforts simultaneously across a broad range of functions, business and organizational units
  • Identify and drive process improvements
  • Build relationships with technology and business management, internal clients and external stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of product costing & vehicle accounting
  • Be comfortable with large data and complex processes involving product cost data
  • Develop and implement UAT and Validation test cases for enhancements or source system changes related to product costing processes
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing, inter-company trade flows & profit and how inter-company profit relates to the GM Consolidation inter-company profit elimination
  • Ability to connect the data from the source to Global Ledger data enrichment to how the enriched Global Ledger data is consumed by our data users

Additional Job Description

Basic Required:

  • College degree with major in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent experience/ training
  • 6+ years finance/accounting experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a matrix organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient personal computer skills and technology driven
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multitask within restricted time constraints

Basic Preferred:

  • Experience/strong knowledge of S4/SAP financial systems
  • Product cost accounting, methodologies & system experience is a plus
  • CPA with consolidations or Global Ledger account structure experience

Finance Analyst - Property, Plant and Equipment

Position Description

1. Monitor activity of Property Plant and Equipment related processes to ensure transactions are processed correctly and in compliance with company policies.

2. Support new business initiatives, system changes, data sharing, etc.

3. Lead continuous improvement and best practice initiatives in activities.

4. Research and analyze operational & accounting transactions. Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting-process risk and issues

5. Identify and effectively support or execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

7. Actively participate on defining and documenting E2E accounting-process

8. Compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements

9. Support and attend requirements from different team within GM

10. Document process executed in the function, maintaining them up to date

11. Review KPIs/ Metric Dashboard

Additional Job Description

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Highly proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • 3+ years of experience
  • SAP experience
  • Advanced English
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and pursue process improvement opportunities
  • Can effectively lead, communicate, and present across all levels of the organization
