Job Description Summary

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis. Develops conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad areas.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently, and in compliance with country regulatory requirements. This includes managing filings for branches, legal entities, and statutory consolidations outside the US, as well as overseeing the statutory audit process where applicable.
  • Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understand how the work of your team contributes to the area.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures. Consult with People Leaders or senior team members for issues outside defined parameters.
  • Collaborate with others to solve issues. For customer-facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Exchange technical information, ask questions, and verify understanding.
  • Handle simple data entry work requiring face value checks and corrections.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or related discipline).
  • Finance experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, especially in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and in geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Skills in Office suite, Hyperion, Business Objects, Oracle GL are a plus.
