Main Purpose

Lead all finance functions for Richemont Mexico, supporting business development and ensuring alignment with Group directives and local regulations. This role is critical in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic support to the General Manager and Richemont Maisons in the Mexican market. The position reports directly to the General Manager of Richemont Mexico (GM) and functionally to the SVP, Chief Financial Officer of Richemont Americas. The Americas region comprises 4 countries (e.g., United States, Canada, Mexico & Brazil) and 35 export markets in Latam & the Caribbean. This role will manage a team of approximately 20 finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Group, Statutory and Tax Reporting

  • Responsible for Group and statutory accounting & reporting, including managing, continuously improving, and documenting processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with Group (IFRS) and local rules.
  • Coordinate and manage all local tax matters (direct and indirect) and international tax agreements in partnership with the Group Tax department and external consultants.
  • Manage the relationship and partnership with local banks in coordination with Group Treasury, ensuring mid- and long-term visibility to anticipate the cash situation and financing needs.

Finance Operations

  • Build and manage a highly structured, process-driven, and technology-enabled accounting function to ensure effective and efficient finance operations.
  • Drive accounting process optimization and improvement in alignment with Group and regional processes, leveraging Group & local digital applications such as SAP, Anaplan, portales del gobierno, portal bancario y plataformas con auditores, .

Business Support

  • Act as a strategic partner to the business for both Brands and Richemont functions, providing professional and proactive expertise and support on all financial matters.
  • Analyse financial performance against KPIs and provide actionable insights to improve profitability. Prepare short- and medium-term business plans with the GM, management, and teams, driving operational improvements and standardization.
  • Build a strong and continuous communication flow with Group teams, local business stakeholders, and regional teams to ensure visibility on Mexican operations.
  • Build a strong local planning and controlling team to partner with the local Brand managers and Function managers, supporting business growth.
  • Support business development activities, including the integration of new businesses.

Internal Control, Procurement & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain a robust internal control environment and risk mitigation framework, ensuring processes and policies are implemented to achieve a high level of compliance.
  • Manage the relationship with auditors (both internal and external) and follow up on action plans. Work closely with the Regional Internal Control team in the Americas to ensure consistencies across the Region and adherence to the Group Internal Control framework.
  • Support our Group Procurement guidelines and policies, including purchase orders, bidding & sourcing requirements.
  • Be a key player in the local Compliance Committee to strengthen local governance, compliance, and ethical conduct, safeguarding the Company’s assets and reputation.

Team Management

  • Assess, manage, and develop the Finance team members through an effective performance management process, including clear definition of roles and responsibilities, expectations, and objectives.
  • Lead and develop cross-cultural teams in a multinational and matrixed organization environment.
  • Define and actively manage succession and individual development plans while ensuring alignment of resources with business needs.
  • Inspire, animate, and coach the team, strongly promote cross-functional activities and communication, and ensure business continuity.

Other Support Functions

  • Ensure company compliance under lease terms, coordination of lease agreements and sign-off, including Commitment Approval Request submissions and completions, working with Real Estate; develop business relationships with key operators in Mexico.
  • Support the Company on legal-related matters, such as contract review and compliance with local regulations, working closely with the GM, Regional and Group legal teams, and external counsel on escalated legal issues.

Strategic Projects

  • Be a supportive and strong Finance sponsor on key projects, such as new store openings, system implementations, or acquisitions, analysing and presenting the financial implications.

Regional Integration and Reporting

  • Develop strong collaboration and animation, with the support of the GM, with Group Finance and the Regional Finance Community based in Shelton and in New York.
  • Implement clear and proper communication and reporting protocols to ensure alignment and synergies with regional finance teams, enabling efficient decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Participate in Regional Finance projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of functional experience, with at least +/- 3 years in a similar leadership and management position with an international company.
  • Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, experience with Mexico statutory accounting and reporting, direct/indirect tax regulations, and experience in developing and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis and controlling in a multinational, matrixed environment, ideally in a luxury retail / multi-channel business.
  • Fluent in English, Spanish is a strong advantage and French a plus.
