Overview

The Finance Analytics & Insights Lead is a key leadership role within our finance department, responsible for building and optimizing financial dashboards, data models, and forecasting tools. This role blends financial planning expertise with data engineering and visualization skills to deliver accurate financial insights to both internal teams and customers.

The Finance Analytics & Insights Lead will collaborate closely with Accounting, Finance, and FP&A leadership to provide actionable data-driven insights, while leading a team and remaining hands-on in BigQuery development and dashboard creation.

Responsibilities

• Financial Data Visualization & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain interactive financial dashboards using Google Sheets, BigQuery, and Looker Studio.
• Automate reporting processes to ensure real-time accuracy and scalability.
• Provide actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

• BigQuery & Data Architecture: Lead the architecture and optimization of financial data models within BigQuery.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to enable clean, reliable financial data pipelines.
• Partner with engineering and IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and ensure data governance.

• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Build and maintain financial forecasting and budgeting models to guide business strategy.
• Perform variance analysis and identify key financial drivers.
• Support leadership with scenario modeling and ROI analysis.

• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of analysts and data specialists, providing guidance on technical and financial analysis.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture focused on continuous improvement.
• Establish best practices for financial data management and reporting.

• Process Automation & Efficiency (Preferred): Identify opportunities to streamline financial data processes and improve efficiency.
• Leverage tools such as SQL, Python, or Google Apps Script to automate recurring tasks.
• Champion scalable data visualization practices across the finance organization.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in financial analytics, FP&A, or data engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in BigQuery: SQL optimization, data modeling, and data pipeline management.
• Proven ability to create financial models and forecasting tools for decision support.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and Looker Studio.
• Experience collaborating across Finance, Accounting, and technical teams to deliver business insights.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
• Advanced SQL and data architecture knowledge; familiarity with ETL/ELT best practices.
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Google Apps Script).
• Experience with ERP or FP&A systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Adaptive Insights, or similar.
• Background in s, e-commerce, or other data-heavy industries.
