An international spirits company is seeking a Financial Analyst in Guadalajara, Mexico. This role involves supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost standardization in SAP, alongside analyzing financial data for new products. Formación

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general business operations or accounting.
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to prepare financial statements.
  • Experience with SAP or comparable ERP software.

Meaningful Work From Day One:

As a member of the Global Supply Chain finance team, this role will be responsible for standard costs, financial transactions, closing, reporting, and analysis for various areas. These activities include general accounting functions, closing activities, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, standard cost calculations and reviews, production variance analysis, inventory analysis, as well as providing other support as needed.

What You Can Expect:

  • Budgeting, Forecasting, Standard Costing, and Production Variances: Support the creation, analysis, and release cost standards in SAP for designated plants. This includes both new products as well as annual cost standards for all materials.
  • Develop financial analyses for new products and new packaging innovation projects. Communicate findings and conclusions in an articulate manner and influence packaging decisions with key brand and production stakeholders. Provide analytics at various project phases from early conceptual design through to final production cost standards.
  • Bill of Materials review: Collaborate with the Master Data Area to ensure that the information contained in master data, material bills are consistent and appropriate, this will be the basis for the determination of standard costs every fiscal year in all the company's centers and for all types of materials.
  • Support manager and operational teams during the budgeting and forecasting periods promoting efficient allocation of resources during the planning processes.
  • Support the May 1st Revaluation process, journal entry, and account reconciliation for various global production sites.
  • Support the further development and optimization of the Material Ledger SAP module. Work with Controllers, Global Supply Chain finance, and IT to ensure optimal use of the system.

Financial Transactions, Accounting, Closing, Reporting, and Analysis:

  • Manage the customs import documents as well as clearing and reconciliation of relevant accounts.
  • Assist in managing the global slow moving obsolete goods (SMOG) inventory process and coordinating the destruction of obsolete or expired inventory with supply chain, customs, and brand teams. This will include preparing the SMOG report and RTD expiration reports and coordinating any necessary destruction with third-party warehouses.
  • Participate in cyclical counts and physical reviews of inventories at the end of each calendar year, to ensure the validity of the inventories and movements in the inventory accounts. This includes production, distribution, and retail inventory warehouses located in Mexico.
  • Perform monthly closing procedures, including journal entries, analysis, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Analyze YTD Production Variances and provide key input to guide forecasting of production and bottling costs.

Special Projects as required:

  • Ad Hoc Project Analysis: Provides support to Senior Finance Manager - Bottling in developing meaningful financial analysis.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Education: College/University (Bachelor's or Equivalent); Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general business operations, accounting or a combination of formal education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of U.S. GAAP and the ability to prepare financial statements and analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and responsibilities while meeting established deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on communicating quantitative and qualitative information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Ability to build productive relationships and partnerships and influence others.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with SAP or comparable ERP software.

What Makes You Unique:

  • Education: Master's Degree (M.A., MBA, or Equivalent); Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Certifications: CPA, CMA
  • Experience - Proficiency in product costing.
  • Experience - Proficiency with SAP software, including the following modules: product costing, material ledger, materials management, inventory management, production planning, integrated manufacturing, financial accounting, and controlling.
  • Experience - Proficiency in Alteryx software
  • Experience in an alcohol beverage manufacturing environment
