Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Site.

The Failure Analysis Engineer role involves implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in designing methods of failure analysis, testing, and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
  • Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation, and calibration of instruments, equipment, and control devices required to test, telemeter, and record test data.
  • Directs and coordinates strategies to debug failed products during the test process.
  • Determines conditions and procedures under which technicians are to operate and indicators and phases of the debug process.
  • Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve testing and troubleshooting problems such as product failures, system malfunctions, incomplete test data, Failure Analysis Reports, new solutions, obsolete components, data interpretation, or coding issues.
  • Analyzes and interprets failure data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering and management personnel.
  • Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
  • Trains and instructs floor support, debug technicians, and test operators on test hardware and/or software, failure solutions, and proper problem-solving techniques.
  • Resolves test yield problems by performing root cause analysis, developing and coordinating corrective measures, and monitoring improvements.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Experience as a Failure Analysis Engineer in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to identify causes of failure.
  • Experience in testing and diagnosing products.
  • Skills in interviewing users, writing, and sharing reports.
  • Ability to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
  • Storing and managing failure analysis files.
  • Making recommendations based on failure reports.
  • Analyzing failure reports and determining root causes.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel.
  • Experience in staff administration.
  • Flexible with schedule availability.
  • Develops and/or modifies test programs using languages such as Python, LabVIEW, Perl, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process, with the ability to train others.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay organized.
