Ford is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer for validation, installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of power electronics test processes and equipment used in electric vehicle powertrains. You will ensure safe operation, HV/LV isolation and thermal performance through robust product tests in subassemblies and final assembly.

This role is manufacturing‑facing and focused on testing, not design, with responsibilities spanning HiPot/insulation tests, EOL checks, and troubleshooting test

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or related).
• Experience in testing power electronics systems, ideally automotive inverters or power modules.
• Hands-on experience with high voltage systems and safety practices.
• Ability to analyze electrical measurements (voltage, current, temperature, insulation).
• Experience with HV isolation testing (HiPot / insulation resistance) and functional validation in production.
• Knowledge of SiC MOSFETs / IGBTs and their thermal behavior.
• Experience with test equipment installation and ramp-up in production.
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, etc.).

Responsabilidades

• Validate safe operation and functional performance of power modules and inverter assemblies.
• Execute HV isolation tests and confirm proper separation between HV and LV circuits.
• Verify inverter functionality at EOL through system-level checks.
• Understand inverter EOL test sequences and perform system initiation, sensor verification, and discharge verification.
• Install, validate, and bring up test equipment in production and maintain stable operation during ramp-up.
• Troubleshoot test failures and drive corrective actions.
