About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the national distribution network, is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Especialista en Tráfico y Transporte Terrestre to join their logistics team in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods via ground transportation. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring all freight movements, optimizing routes, negotiating with carriers, and managing carrier performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Mexican transportation landscape, strong negotiation skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly transportation activities to optimize delivery times and costs for the Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico operations. Source and select appropriate carriers based on cost, service, and reliability. Negotiate transportation rates and contract terms. Monitor shipment progress, track shipments in transit, and proactively address any delays or issues. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including hazardous materials handling and driver hours of service. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Manage carrier performance through regular reviews and scorecards. Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and other logistics partners. Prepare reports on transportation costs, delivery performance, and other key metrics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in traffic management, transportation, or logistics, with a focus on ground transportation in Mexico. Strong understanding of the Mexican transportation market, including routes, regulations, and key players. Proven experience in negotiating with carriers and managing freight contracts. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and related software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
