Job summary

Global Capability Network Mexico, part of HSBC Holdings plc, is seeking a Mortgage Specialist to support loan applications through funding. You will collect and analyse credit, collateral and compliance documents to ensure loan quality and risk management, collaborating with underwriting, mortgage associates, sales, and third-party vendors.

You will drive shorter cycle times, maintain accuracy, and meet SLAs while upholding HSBC policies and ethics in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorised to work in the U.S.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, documents, investor and compliance requirements.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided and defined policies.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple duties/deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Strong customer service, organisational, and written/oral communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years’ proven bank/mortgage experience (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with PCs and HSBC systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate creditworthiness through review of mortgage documentation to assess risk.
• Analyse collateral documentation to ensure collateral supports risk posture.
• Clear pre-doc conditions to increase pull-through percentage.
• Meet daily production while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
• Adhere to regulatory policies and HSBC Code of Ethics; protect the mortgage security interest.
• Use judgement for early identification and escalation of issues.
• Develop and sustain relationships with Third Party Vendors; monitor quality performance and standards.
• Notify parties of irregularities per HSBC policy.
• Own pipeline management and SLAs with proactive customer focus.
• Achieve KPIs on attendance, revenue, retention, service levels, and risk metrics.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff; support Diversity programs.
• Adhere to compliance and risk controls; report weaknesses and issues.
