Job summary

Canyon Construction Company seeks an Equipment Operator to support construction operations. Requires operating light to heavy equipment and daily maintenance; at least 5 years of experience preferred. Must work well with others in a production-oriented team setting.

The role is based on Navajo Nation, near Bloomfield, NM, with prevailing wage requirements. Valid state license and drug screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment operation experience required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions.
• Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of construction equipment (excavators, backhoes, dozers, blades, loaders).
• Performs precise excavation and grading around utilities.
• Conducts daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Follows safety procedures and job site regulations.
• Coordinates with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintains awareness of surroundings for safe operation on active sites.
• Reports equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
