Intuitive Surgical, S. de R.L de C.V. in Mexicali, Mexico, seeks an engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing process technologies for precision medical devices used in minimally invasive robotic surgery.

You will inspect, repair, design, analyze and improve equipment, manage service strategies, qualify installations, and drive reliability across electronics and mechanical systems, with travel to the USA as required.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English (75% fluency) and able to travel to the USA.

Responsabilidades

  • Apply engineering concepts to optimize equipment, procedures and budgets for improved maintainability, reliability and availability.
  • Determine and analyze trends for equipment performance and implement improvements.
  • Perform installation, repair and upkeep services for mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Design equipment service strategies, procedures and methods.
  • Carry out routine equipment service and respond to faults.
  • Diagnose breakdown problems and implement fixes.
  • Integrate new equipment/components and ensure proper operation.
  • Seek better technologies to improve production processes.
  • Qualify equipment installations in facilities.
  • Manage equipment service database for scheduling, manuals and procedures.
  • Perform quality inspection on equipment service jobs.
  • Control equipment service tools and costs.
  • Handle emergency/unscheduled equipment repairs.

Primary Function of Position

Contribute your leadership and technical skills in the areas of manufacturing process technologies, problem-solving, training, and project management in a growing medical device company. In this key role, you will evaluate, inspect, maintain, repair, design, analyze and improve various types of equipment, including electronic and mechanical equipment for the manufacturing environment of precision instruments for minimally invasive robotic surgery.


Essential Job Duties


  • Apply engineering concepts to the optimization of equipment, procedures, and departmental budgets to achieve better maintainability, reliability, and availability of equipment.

  • Determine and analyze trends for equipment performance and define and implement improvement.

  • Perform installation, repair and upkeep services for a variety of equipment either in the fields of mechanics and electronics.

  • Design equipment service strategies, procedures and methods.

  • Carry out routine scheduled equipment service and responding to equipment faults.

  • Diagnose breakdown problems.

  • Fit, design and integrate new equipment/component and make sure equipment is working correctly.

  • Seek for better and more suitable technologies for improving production processes.

  • Perform qualification for equipment being installed in the facilities.

  • Manage Equipment service database for scheduling service and repairs as well as manuals and procedures to be executed for such service and repairs.

  • Perform quality inspection on equipment service jobs.

  • Control equipment service tools as well as costs.

  • Deal with emergency/unscheduled problems and repairs of equipment.


Required Skills and Experience


  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English 75%.

  • Must be able to travel to the USA.

  • Strong communications skills across team organizations and cultures.


Required Education and Training


  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.


Preferred Skills and Experience


  • MSME.

  • Mexico – US Customs and supply chain knowledge.

  • Mid/high volume complex mechanism manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Experienced in ISO 13485, or medical device manufacturing environment.
