Job summary

Jabil in Mexico is seeking an Engineering professional to design, fabricate, modify, and document molded assemblies and systems to improve products and manufacturing operations. You will develop sketches, layouts, and notes to present design proposals, researching factors like manufacturability and material availability.

You will assist in design development across sub‑specialties such as Automation, Mold Design, or Packaging, work with customers, select materials and tooling, troubleshoot

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Foundations of engineering theory, design principles and evaluation methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of plastic molded sub‑assemblies, components, and packaging.
• Assist in developing requirement specifications, system concepts, CAD generated layouts, BOMs and budgets.
• Provide customer product design engineering for economic production; may participate in meetings with customers.
• Assist in assessing proper material, tooling, automation and equipment selection.
• Support manufacturing in troubleshooting problems, upgrades, retrofits, set‑ups, methods development, and process parameter development.
• Participate in product development meetings and may recommend design changes to enhance manufacturing and assembly.
• May develop SOPs, operations and maintenance manuals.
• Research new technology or development tools to stay informed of current tech.
• Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools, projects and processes and ability to incorporate into engineering projects.
• Reviews completed projects for accuracy, clarity and completeness.
• Ensures projects comply with local, regional and national regulatory requirements/codes and controls.
• Supports all safety and quality programs and initiatives.
