Chromalloy in Mexicali is seeking a Technical Writer to rewrite technical documentation, consolidating data for operators and ensuring clarity within legacy ERP systems.

You will create and standardize work instructions, assemble data, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in lab and field settings, with occasional travel.

Formación

• Technology degree or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in aerospace documentation.
• Experience with ERP systems, especially Epicor.

Responsabilidades

• Standardize work instructions across part families.
• Populate ERP data by operation in Epicor.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and manuals.
• Deliver presentations to external and internal customers.
• Trains less experienced technical staff.
• Work in lab and field environments; occasional travel.

Engineering-TECH - Technical writer

BASIC POSITION FUNCTION:

Responsible for rewriting technical documentation to aggregate technical data to a consistent location within all documents. Working within legacy ERP and document management systems to ensure data is clearly described and written at a level for operators to comprehend.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Previous experience as a mid-level member of a technical team supporting the development of technical documentation.
• Proven ability to work within Epicor and other ERP systems.
• Proven ability to develop manufacturing process documents that comply with regulatory requirements.
• Typically 2 to 4 years' experience in writing Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine engineering documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:

• Assemble master list of operations
• Create approved data to work scope matrix
• Create part numbers to work scope matrix
• Create work instructions for each operation
• Standardize work instructions across part families
• Identify equipment capability per operation
• Create Bill of Materials
• Create part number and repair code park marking instructions
• Populate Epicor data by operation
• Assemble Rework work scopes
• Collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment to consistently develop standardized documentation.
• Prepare accurate written technical reports, specifications, procedures and manuals
• Prepare and deliver presentations of work to all levels of external and internal customers
• Trains less experienced technical staff
• Work in a lab and field environments.
• Occasional travel required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/PROFICIENCIES:

• Familiar with technical language and manufacturing methodologies
• Understanding of various measuring techniques including CMM, white-light/laser scanning, gages, ..
• General interpretation of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications

• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, CI and 6 sigma methodology
• Working knowledge of quality systems and documentation management.

• Thoughtful and effective communications skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
• Proficiency in Epicor, Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Will be determined based on country and other legal regulatory requirements.

This position is temporary (6 to 9 months contract)
