Chromalloy seeks an Engineering-TECH - Technical Writer in Mexicali to rewrite technical documentation, consolidating data for operators and standardizing instructions across part families.

The role requires 2–4 years in aerospace documentation, strong English; familiarity with Epicor ERP and manufacturing methods; and occasional travel during a temporary 6–9 month contract.

Formación

• 2–4 years' experience in writing Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine engineering documentation.
• Familiar with technical language and manufacturing methodologies.
• Experience operating within ERP systems such as Epicor.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble master list of operations.
• Create approved data to work scope matrix.
• Create part numbers to work scope matrix.
• Create work instructions for each operation.
• Standardize work instructions across part families.
• Identify equipment capability per operation.
• Create Bill of Materials.
• Populate Epicor data by operation.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop standardized documentation.
• Prepare written technical reports, specifications, procedures and manuals.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to customers and internal teams.
• Trains less experienced technical staff.
• Work in lab and field environments.
• Occasional travel.

Engineering-TECH - Technical writer

BASIC POSITION FUNCTION:

Responsible for rewriting technical documentation to aggregate technical data to a consistent location within all documents. Working within legacy ERP and document management systems to ensure data is clearly described and written at a level for operators to comprehend.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:

• Previous experience as a mid-level member of a technical team supporting the development of technical documentation.
• Proven ability to work within Epicor and other ERP systems.
• Proven ability to develop manufacturing process documents that comply with regulatory requirements.
• Typically 2 to 4 years' experience in writing Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine engineering documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:

• Assemble master list of operations
• Create approved data to work scope matrix
• Create part numbers to work scope matrix
• Create work instructions for each operation
• Standardize work instructions across part families
• Identify equipment capability per operation
• Create Bill of Materials
• Create part number and repair code park marking instructions
• Populate Epicor data by operation
• Assemble Rework work scopes
• Collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment to consistently develop standardized documentation.
• Prepare accurate written technical reports, specifications, procedures and manuals
• Prepare and deliver presentations of work to all levels of external and internal customers
• Trains less experienced technical staff
• Work in a lab and field environments.
• Occasional travel required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/PROFICIENCIES:

• Familiar with technical language and manufacturing methodologies
• Understanding of various measuring techniques including CMM, white-light/laser scanning, gages, ..
• General interpretation of engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications

• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, CI and 6 sigma methodology
• Working knowledge of quality systems and documentation management.

• Thoughtful and effective communications skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
• Proficiency in Epicor, Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Will be determined based on country and other legal regulatory requirements.

This position is temporary (6 to 9 months contract)
