BOGE Rubber & Plastics in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering organization and drive development, industrialization, and continuous improvement of plastic and rubber products and processes for automotive customers.

The role is based in San Luis Potosí and requires leading multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and global engineering groups to deliver on quality, cost, timing, and performance.

Formación

  • 7–10+ years in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • 3–5+ years of Engineering leadership experience.
  • Strong experience in plastic injection and/or rubber molding processes.
  • Solid knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, IATF 16949, VDA, and AIAG methodologies.
  • Experience with product development, tooling, process engineering, industrialization, and manufacturing launch activities.
  • Advanced English and fluent Spanish; strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead Engineering and Product Development activities for new products and industrialization projects.
  • Direct development and validation of plastic and rubber components, tooling, and processes.
  • Define and improve plastic injection, rubber molding, and related processes.
  • Lead projects from concept through APQP, prototype, pilot runs, PPAP, and production release.
  • Coordinate CAD design, tooling, equipment, and production validation.
  • Interface with OEM, Tier 1 and 2 customers, managing technical requirements and changes.
  • Manage relationships with tooling, equipment, and technology suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, AIAG, etc.).
  • Monitor KPIs: scrap, rework, efficiency, capacity, cycle time, and process performance.
  • Drive Lean, CI, cost reduction, and process optimization; develop multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

BOGE Rubber & Plastics is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering organization and drive the development, industrialization, and continuous improvement of plastic and rubber products and manufacturing processes for the automotive industry.

Based in San Luis Potosí, this role will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, Manufacturing, Quality, and global Engineering teams to deliver projects on quality, cost, timing, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Engineering and Product Development activities for new products, engineering changes, and industrialization projects.
  • Lead the development and validation of plastic and rubber components, including technical feasibility, tooling, molds, and manufacturing processes.
  • Define, validate, and continuously improve plastic injection, rubber molding, mixing, compression, and assembly processes.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept and feasibility through APQP, prototype, pilot runs, PPAP, launch, and production release.
  • Coordinate CAD design, tooling, equipment, process development, and production validation activities.
  • Act as the technical interface with OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2 customers, managing technical requirements, drawings, tolerances, specifications, and engineering changes.
  • Manage technical relationships with tooling, equipment, and technology suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality and engineering standards, including IATF 16949, AIAG, VDA, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and capability studies.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing indicators including scrap, rework, efficiency, productivity, capacity, cycle time, and process performance.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary Engineering teams, promoting technical excellence, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Support and standardize engineering solutions across BOGE operations and contribute to global engineering initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • 3–5+ years of Engineering leadership experience managing technical teams and projects.
  • Strong experience in plastic injection and/or rubber molding processes.
  • Solid knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, IATF 16949, VDA, and AIAG methodologies.
  • Experience with product development, tooling, process engineering, industrialization, and manufacturing launch activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working directly with automotive customers and suppliers.
  • Advanced English and fluent Spanish.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
