Omni Hotels & Resorts is opening Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, a luxury property scheduled to debut in 2027. The Engineering Manager will support the Director of Engineering, oversee BMS programming, and lead the maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires 3–5 years in hotel maintenance/engineering, strong leadership, and proficiency with MEP systems and CMMS. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred, with a focus on safety and cross‑department

Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita

Opening in early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is well underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Staying true to the brand’s mission of creating elevated places and spaces that are inspired by a destination, the resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist.

Opening in early 2027, Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially broken ground and construction is well underway on Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita, the brand’s first luxury resort in Mexico. Staying true to the brand’s mission of creating elevated places and spaces that are inspired by a destination, the resort’s exterior and interiors will pay homage to the local culture with a contemporary twist. This beachfront resort will feature 244 guest rooms and suites and two 4-bedroom villas with sweeping views of the Bay of Banderas. Complementing the local area’s many attractions and activities, the resort will offer three original restaurant concepts, a destination spa with 14 treatment rooms, two retail shops, multiple pools including adult-only and family-friendly options, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor fitness center, and a kids club. Boasting over 27,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Omni Pontoque will feature a 6,000 square foot ballroom, an open-air pavilion, multiple event lawns and dedicated meeting rooms, all of which provide breathtaking ocean views. The Engineering Manager provides technical and administrative support to the Director of Engineering Services and assists in the operational management of the resort’s Engineering Department. This role helps ensure the preventative maintenance program, work order management, and day-to-day engineering operations run smoothly and safely, supporting a well-maintained property and an exceptional guest experience from the resort’s pre-opening phase onward.

Essential Functions

• Ensure the proper functioning and programming of the Building Management System (BMS).
• Coordinate operational coverage and maintenance priorities across shifts (AM, PM, and Overnight).
• Conduct daily reviews of critical pending items (guest rooms, events, outlets, and utilities).
• Prioritize corrective and preventive work orders and ensure their quality closure.
• Coordinate technical support for events in banquet/event venues and for outlet requirements.
• Supervise routine equipment rounds and inspections of machine rooms.
• Coordinate and validate contractor work, ensuring compliance with safety protocols (PPE/LOTO, as applicable).
• Manage escalation and response to critical failures (electrical, water, HVAC, pumping, etc.).
• Ensure daily communication with Rooms/Housekeeping, Banquets, and Food & Beverage.
• Report operational status, risks, and needs to the Director of Engineering.
• Assign shift priorities and resources for incident and work order response.
• Authorize the start-up/shutdown of non-critical equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Request parts and external services within the established process.
• Stop work in the presence of unsafe conditions or non-compliance with quality/safety standards.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal partners, including the Director of Engineering, Supervisors, Rooms/Housekeeping, Banquets, Food & Beverage, Security, and Purchasing/Storeroom.
• Coordinate with external partners, including contractors, technical service providers, and warranty/installation visits.
• Conduct frequent walkthroughs of the property, machine rooms, and back-of-house areas.
• Monitor and report key productivity indicators, including closed vs. open work orders and response time, rounds/log and checklist compliance, critical equipment availability (downtime), recurring failures in guest rooms/outlets, and completion of scheduled preventive maintenance (PM).

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in hotel maintenance/engineering or similar facilities, including experience leading shifts.
• Technical knowledge of MEP systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing), work order/CMMS management, and basic industrial safety.
• Spanish and English (operational level) language proficiency.
• LOTO, working at heights, and/or electrical safety certifications/licenses preferred.
• Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
