Join our team! We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to establish and lead a new Scrum team in Mexico City. This role requires strong technical expertise in Azure, .NET, and C#, with the ability to actively solve complex technical problems while providing exceptional leadership to build a high-performing team.

About the Role:

In this opportunity as a Engineering Manager, you will

  • Establish a new development center in Mexico City, including hiring and developing a complete Scrum team
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and actively participate in coding, code reviews, and architecture decisions
  • Lead technical delivery using Azure, .NET, and C# technologies, with direct involvement in solving complex technical challenges
  • Implement and refine Agile/Scrum methodologies appropriate for a distributed team environment
  • Manage cross-geography collaboration between Mexico and India engineering teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality, and team performance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks proactively
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence and innovation
  • Provide technical guidance, direction, and mentorship to team members
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of software solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to best practices
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, bottlenecks, and bugs
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest .NET technologies, frameworks, and best practices
  • Manage and optimize databases, including SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including code documentation and architectural diagrams
  • Lead deployment of applications and systems, ensuring smooth and reliable operations
  • Participate in testing of applications and systems to ensure quality and functionality
  • Implement and adhere to Agile development methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and backlog grooming
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, helping them develop their skills and expertise

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Engineering Manager if your background includes

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles
  • Current hands-on coding proficiency with Azure, .NET, and C# technologies
  • Proven track record of building high-performing development teams while remaining technically involved
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles and best practices
  • Experience working with distributed teams, particularly with teams based in India
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and make sound architectural decisions
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing development centers or teams in new locations
  • Valid travel visa for the US and/or India
  • Previous experience living or working in multiple countries
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Technical certifications in relevant technologies
  • Experience in technical recruitment and team building
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Scrum Master or other Agile certifications
