This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to lead a high-impact engineering team within a manufacturing operation.

Job summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Group Manager to lead a team of Product Engineers and oversee the Document Control Department. This leadership role supports day-to-day manufacturing operations and partners with Strategic Business Units to drive long-term initiatives that enhance product quality and ensure on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can balance short-term operational needs with strategic improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Engineers; hire and manage performance and workload priorities.
  • Foster is a team-oriented, result-driven culture aligned with company values.
  • Oversee Document Control operations, ensuring high levels of responsiveness and service quality.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve both departmental and corporate strategic objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership on root cause analysis related to Form, Fit, and Function of products.
  • Drive and support key projects including new product introductions, cost reduction initiatives, quality improvements, and capacity expansions.
  • Promote continuous improvement through refinement of engineering processes and adherence to Rain Bird’s standards.
  • Track and deliver measurable results in support of corporate goals.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

· Minimum 7 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

· Proven experience in product engineering and manufacturing environments.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with hands-on experience in root cause analysis.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).

· Proficiency with engineering documentation and process improvement methodologies.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MBA or Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with CAD/CAE tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and cost justifications for engineering projects.
  • Experience in injection molded plastic component design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing in a high-mix, high-volume environment is a plus.
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to work cross-functionally.
