Bendix is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to lead project management and validate electronics for ABS, stability and driver-assistance systems, and TPMS. The role combines hands-on testing with cross-functional collaboration with Bendix suppliers and customers to ensure robust product validation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The Electronics Test Engineer shall be primarily responsible for project management, defining, and conducting electronics product validation testing for ABS, stability systems, driverassistancesystems, and tire pressure monitoring systems. This includes knowing mechanical & electronic hardware, electronics, and software for automotive and commercial vehicle system products.


The position requires a hands‑on individual withproject management mechanical/electrical skills and knowledge of instrumentation, electrical/electronic controls, pneumatics, and testmethodology. The individual must have good verbal and written communication skills and willing to work in a multi-disciplined team environment with both Bendix suppliers and customers when needed.


EssentialFunctions:

Ability to communicate well with subordinates, colleagues, and management in presenting results of work performed.


Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and climatic test activities with internal product engineers for existing and new Electronics products; reviewing and developing Design Validation Plans (DVPs), creating Test Requests (TRs), conducting tests, and working with product engineers to draw conclusions.


Responsible for warranty analysis of TPMS, sensors, or ECUs and understanding of how the system works.


Responsible for conducting root cause analysis of Electronics components; DV test parts and field returns.


Assistand/or lead efforts to create customer test reports to document special investigations (root cause analysis, etc.).


Coordinate test activities with external test facilities, providing specifications, quoting, andparticipatingon-site as a test facilitator and witness.


Support work related to the development of engineering documents including design specifications, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs as they pertain to Customers.


Activelyparticipatein product groups’ critical design reviews for product development.


Responsible for developing electronic test fixtures to support product validation.


Become an expert in certain Electronics lab test protocols and test standards.


Reading/creating circuit schematic drawings in support of HW product development.


Trouble-shoot circuit boards with standard electronics tools; oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.


Use data acquisition equipment to measure various parameters, temperature, pressure, force, humidity, etc.


Responsible for lab safety/ergonomics/housekeeping.


Ensuring equipment ismaintainedproperly in the lab (environmentalchambers, shakers, air treatment system)and instrumentsareproperly calibrated.


Knowledge:

Knowledge of vehicle braking/electronic systems preferred.


Knowledge of IATF16949 preferred.


Knowledge of PDM (Product Data Management) and engineering document control/release processes.


Demonstrable history of project involvement from concept to production.


Experience:

Engineer 2: 2+ years of experience plus bachelor’s degree


Engineer 3: 6+ years related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years related experience with a master’s degree.


Possesses a knowledge base of common electronic lab tasks and requires limited guidance from engineering resources.


Working knowledge of environmental test standards for the automotive industry.


Experience with diagnostic software and automotive diagnostic interfaces is a plus.


Experience with RF/HW Design and hand-soldering for surface‑mount components on printed circuit boards is a plus.


Experience with intermediate machining asrequiredto build custom test fixtures is a plus.


Experience in statistical analysis such as Design of Experiment (DOE) methodsisa plus.


Skills:

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills anda positive/proactive work ethic.


Must be enthusiastic, energetic, and exemplify strong professional ethics.


Must be organized and a self‑starter.


Capable of prioritizing time/resources/goals andpossessingstrong interpersonal skills to ensure success in a cross‑functional team environment.

Solid analytical skills.


Education:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering (automotive/commercial vehicle preferred).


Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
