Bendix, part of the Knorr-Bremse Group, is seeking an engineer to design and develop product requirements, test plans, and testing environments for desktop diagnostic applications. You will support ECU diagnosis software testing, automate tests, and Collaborate with embedded software developers and systems engineers to ensure effective verification and validation.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or CS field.
  • Experience with backend test automation and software release processes.
  • Knowledge of software quality and testing methodologies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for designing and developing product requirements, test plans and testing environments to support product verification and validation for desktop diagnostic applications. This position will assist in ensuring the software used for Electronic Control Unit (ECU) diagnosis is effective and efficient for providing the best team output.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop in an agile/scrum environment focused on incremental releases.
  • Develop and maintain tests and test applications to validate unit software, software integration systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to automate data management and data flows.
  • Automate test cases to enable quicker application deployments and verify functionality, performance and scalability.
  • Participate in reviews of the software products, their databases and the environments related to testing of the software; recommend and make improvements on software products and tools for the organization.
  • Document standards and best practices for consumption by product development teams.
  • Maintain product teams test and build environments and automation frameworks.
  • Analyze and understand test results and monitor trends over time.
  • Understands the fundamentals of Software Engineering and can demonstrate understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Able to follow standards for proper documentation of requirements and validation. Produces documentation for consumption by engineering teams.
  • Interface with embedded software developers, systems engineers, and Bendix management to communicate status of projects.
  • Able to estimate effort of development work with given assumptions.
  • Able to clearly communicate impediments or blockers to progress work in a timely manner.
Knowledge:
  • Intermedium knowledge programming in Python our other languages related to creating test scripts and test infrastructures.
  • Familiar with automotive industry communication protocols (CAN, J1939, J1587, UDS, etc).
  • Familiar with software, requirements, and test management systems.
  • Knowledge with online software repositories to store, automate and deploy software services. (e.g. Github, Jenkins, TestComplete) is a plus.
  • Experience with C# preferred, but not required.
Experience:
  • Engineer 2: Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline plus 2 years related experience.
  • Engineer 3: Bachelor's degree in engineering with 6 years related experience or Master's degree plus 5 years related experience.
  • Some experience with backend test automation frameworks.
  • Experience with software release processes.
  • Working understanding of Agile/Scrum Software development approach.
  • Working knowledge of Software Quality and Testing methodologies.
Skills:
  • Biased towards action.
  • Ability to assimilate data quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Capable of prioritizing time/resources/goals.
  • Desire to learn new tools and develop a cross-functional skill set.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s Degree is a plus.
