Bendix, part of the Knorr-Bremse Group, is seeking an experienced Engineer 3 to design, develop, test, and release brake control products for commercial vehicles. You will lead cross-functional teams in an Agile environment and contribute to system-level driver assistance projects.

The role requires 6+ years in vehicle controls, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to work with international teams.

Formación

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in vehicle dynamics or vehicle controls engineering.
  • Hands-on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.
  • Experience in heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive markets is a plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and support Brake Controls team in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • Control system design, product and feature design, requirements definition, interfaces, testing and release.
  • Model-based development of control systems from bench to embedded software validation.
  • Develop and execute technical plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate releases.
  • Release of products with documentation per Global Change Management and ASPICE; use of Teamcenter PLM and PTC Integrity.
  • Author technical documentation including test reports and installation specifications.
  • Travel up to 25% for tests and customer locations.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary

This position is responsible for design, development, application, testing, and release of next generation Brake Controls products and features for commercial vehicles.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and support Brake Controls team(s) in an Agile/SCRUM environment
  • Assignments will include control system design, product and feature design, requirements definition, cross-product communication interfaces, product testing, and release.
  • Understanding and refining requirements for new driver assistance product opportunities.
  • Model based development of control systems, including bench prototyping and testing all the way to code generation and embedded software for final product validation.
  • Develop and execute technical plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate system release and product applications
  • Release of products and documentation pertaining the product line and other offerings at customers compliant with the Global Change Management process and ASPICE concepts (V-model development, requirements traceability), using tools such as Teamcenter PLM and PTC Integrity
  • Application of next-generation components, functions, and systems.
  • Author technical documentation for driver assistance products, including: test reports and customer-facing specifications for installation, calibration, and service of these systems.
  • Software / Hardware in the loop testing.
  • Benchmark competitive systems.
  • Interface with customers, software developers, systems engineers and management to communicate status of projects.
  • Willing to travel (test track, customer locations, winter test) as required up to 25%.
Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of air brake systems is a plus.
  • Broad automotive and electronic systems knowledge preferably related to heavy truck.
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols including J1939, UDS, and CCP.
  • Technical knowledge of vehicle system components and impact on overall vehicle performance.
  • Familiar with CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, Matlab, Simulink, dSpace, Python, and TruckSim
  • Knowledge and experience with product quality tools such as system FMEA, DVP&R, ISO 26262, ASPICE, and Functional Safety Concepts.
Experience (Engineer 3)
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience preferably in vehicle dynamics or vehicles controls engineering.
  • Hands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.
  • Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.
  • Strong product design experience.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members
  • Greenbelt certified a plus

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering required

Travel: Up to 25% required
