Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Mexico is seeking an embedded software engineer to develop production‑quality firmware, reference software, and demonstration tools that accelerate product adoption and simplify customer integration. You will collaborate with product management, systems engineering, and global customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include designing drivers, SDKs, and GUIs; validating solutions; and creating training materials.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong C/C++ embedded software development experience.
Experience with microcontrollers, embedded Linux, or real-time operating systems.
Experience with USB, USB Power Delivery, I²C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, or similar protocols.
Experience developing software drivers, SDKs, or middleware.
Experience developing desktop or web-based GUIs and customer tools.
Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation and testing.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware and software domains.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Lead a team of software engineers delivering embedded software, drivers, GUIs, algorithms, and customer enablement tools.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded firmware and reference software for semiconductor products and evaluation platforms.
Design and maintain software drivers, middleware, APIs, and software development kits (SDKs).
Develop customer-facing GUIs, configuration tools, demonstration applications, and automation utilities.
Create software examples and reference implementations that simplify customer integration.
Validate hardware and software solutions through system-level testing and use-case development.
Generate technical collateral including application notes, user guides, quick-start guides, training material, demonstrations, and support content.
Support customer design-in activities, troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and customer workflows.
Contribute to technical training for customers, field engineers, partners, and distributors.
Support trade shows, demonstrations, customer visits, and technology evaluations.
