A leading company in the Aerospace & Defense Industry is seeking a Source Inspector in Guadalajara. The role involves performing inspection operations on hardware, ensuring quality and compliance with standards. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in PCBA and knowledge of inspection techniques. This position may require travel to supplier locations and offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Formación

  • Prior hands-on PCBA experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Experience with hand measurement gages.

Responsabilidades

  • Inspect electronic units/boards using measuring instruments.
  • Perform First Article Inspections and maintain documentation.
  • Support corrective actions and root cause analysis.

Descripción del empleo

The Source Inspector (SI) is responsible for performing inspection operations of in-process or completed hardware, including dimensional and visual inspection. The SI may review all paperwork related to the product, including operations such as Final Inspection, Receiving Inspection, Outside Processing, and Assembly. The SI will verify FAI’s to AS9102 for accuracy and completeness and must be familiar with hand tools and gaging techniques. The SI will also interpret Blueprint/Plan (B/P) and GD&T. Source Inspection occurs at the end customer’s supplier locations, requiring travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prior hands-on PCBA experience
  2. Inspect electronic units/boards using measuring/inspection instruments, including visual inspection under magnification and component placement
  3. Read, interpret, and utilize quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and documentation
  4. Process warehouse materials
  5. Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines/procedures
  6. Responsible for First Article Inspections and related documentation
  7. Maintain current inspection documents, including FAI inspections per AS9102
  8. Perform internal containment activities for non-conformances
  9. Act as a Source Inspector
  10. Support corrective actions and root cause analysis
  11. Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Visual inspection of PCB boards, sub-assemblies, and aerospace machined components
  • Performing FAI's per AS9102
  • Visual magnification techniques
  • MS Outlook and Excel
  • Hand measurement gages and conventional inspection techniques

Skills:

  • In-process and final inspection experience within the defense industry (preferred)
  • IPC, J-STD, and Mil-Spec inspection experience (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster productive relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple objectives
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Decision-making, analytical skills, and judgment

Supervision:

Working Conditions:

Perform work efficiently with minimal direction, involving physical activities such as light lifting, sitting, and occasional long-distance driving. Visual requirements include reading printed and digital documents. The environment is typical office conditions with some physical activity, and work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with possible overtime. Physical requirements include handling objects, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
