JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for executing robust electrical routed system harness designs, complex component placement, vehicle level planning, design, validation, manufacturing, and field support of worldwide off-road electrical systems to support design implementation into production. The primary focus will be on Polaris Off-Road vehicles, with involvement in other Polaris products as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Collaborate with electrical design architects and systems engineers to understand and execute vehicle electrical system strategies in CAD.
  2. Own and direct activities related to the electrical system in CAD, including component placement and harness routing.
  3. Participate in collaborative design reviews to ensure comprehensive input from all stakeholders.
  4. Design brackets, features, and interfaces to facilitate component placement and harness routing.
  5. Manage all mechanical attributes related to the electrical system, including bolted joints.
  6. Manage design release deadlines and activities, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  7. Develop and manage electrical system variant strategies supporting different feature levels and vehicle platforms.
  8. Engage with Manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of electrical systems.
  9. Work with Validation and Field Support teams to resolve issues and support customer satisfaction.
  10. Coordinate with Project teams on timelines and Bill of Materials for vehicle electrical systems.
  11. Collaborate with electrical suppliers on new designs and processes, supporting Design-For-Manufacturing.
  12. Assist in developing and maintaining electrical design requirements and specifications.
  13. Provide mechanical design support for electrical components.
  14. Perform miscellaneous electrical design tasks as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  1. B.S. or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  2. Bilingual in English; Spanish is a plus.
  3. Minimum 1 year of related design experience.
  4. Experience in new product design and development.
  5. Proficiency with MCAD; experience with ECAD, Creo, and Mentor Capital Harness preferred.
  6. Basic electrical fundamentals understanding.
  7. Strong mechanical aptitude.
  8. Experience with cable routing and flexible components preferred.
  9. Attention to detail and ability to manage complex, concurrent projects.
  10. Hands-on approach to product development and troubleshooting skills.
  11. Decisive, proactive, and capable of working independently.
  12. Ability to collaborate with domestic and international partners and delegate tasks effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  1. Some travel (up to 20%) domestically and internationally.
  2. Fast-paced office and lab environment.
  3. Location: Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico.
