IFF is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to drive equipment reliability, automation performance, and continuous improvement at our Tecomán, Colima facility. This on-site role leads electrical, instrumentation, and control system initiatives to maximize uptime.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, support preventive maintenance, and participate in capital projects, with collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Instrumentation or related field.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and automation technologies.
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership for electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems across the facility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to support operational continuity.
• Ensure reliability and availability of motors, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability.
• Lead RCA investigations and implement corrective actions

Where You'll Make a Difference

• Provide technical leadership for electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems across the facility
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, instrumentation, and automation issues to support operational continuity
• Ensure the reliability and availability of motors, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), process instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and control systems
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability and plant performance
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures
• Manage calibration activities and ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and operational requirements
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and energy utilization across the operation
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, commissioning activities, and startup initiatives
• Maintain electrical documentation, control system records, instrumentation databases, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), while providing technical guidance to maintenance and operations teams

What Makes You the Right Fit

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in industrial manufacturing environments, preferably within food, food ingredients, chemical, or process industries
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, automation technologies, drives, and process control systems
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems in manufacturing operations
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
• Experience supporting calibration programs, equipment commissioning, and technical improvement projects
• Understanding of electrical standards, industrial safety requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication abilities
