General Summary
Responsible for providing extensive expertise in servicing and supporting the glass manufacturing process by maintaining a variety of complex electrical, electromechanical systems, and equipment under the philosophy of Reliability-Centered Maintenance, applying safety, quality service, environmental, and labor standards in force as well as current regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research, develop, modify, design, evaluate, and test a variety of electrical and electronic equipment and systems, including control and test equipment.
- Support the integration of new technology, techniques, and concepts to enhance functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce production costs.
- Diagnose failures, perform repairs, and/or maintain electrical distribution systems, verifying the functional status of equipment.
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Detect and correct faults, breakdowns, and deviations of electrical parameters (Harmonics, Dips, Swells, Transients, Power Factor, current unbalance) that affect Power Quality.
- Write reports by compiling data, analyzing, and summarizing information trends.
- Inspect facilities to evaluate the efficacy and quality of electrical systems.
- Plan maintenance activities, defining stages and activities with safety procedures, quality conditions, and compliance with electrical codes.
Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components, as well as National Electrical Codes and regulations (C.F.E. and NOMs).
- Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution, instrumentation, control systems, automation, and capable of performing load calculations and studies related to power distribution systems.
- PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley).
- Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting instrumentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Electrical and electronic troubleshooting capabilities.
Position Details
This position may require full-time work with extended hours when necessary.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance of electrical and electromechanical systems.
