Vertiv Co is seeking an Electrical Engineer to sustain CRAC products and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, process engineering and production teams. You will perform design and verification tasks, improve cost metrics, and provide direct support to manufacturing.

The role requires a BSEE with 3+ years of experience, strong CAD skills (CREO), and knowledge of NEC/NFPA and UL standards. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to product development and field issue

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
• 3+ years of career experience with electrically controlled products/appliances.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and in a team.
• Demonstrated history of working with products with understanding of the product development process.
• Excellent project management and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD software, CREO 4.0+ preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA70) and UL 508A.

Responsabilidades

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the sustaining activities of Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) products; will work in a cross‑functional development group; manage a variety of tasks and activities in a dynamic environment; and solve complex problems where no precedence exists. Will provide direct support to our manufacturing teams, analyze manufacturing issues, report findings back to the electrical engineering team, and support implementation of solutions.

Responsibilities

• Sustain computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products
• Collaboration across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams. Work with these teams for design reviews, meeting cost metrics, and brainstorming around customer pain points.
• Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to verify design requirements
• Design/develop/create/review/revise 2D and 3D revision‑controlled CAD for electro‑mechanical assemblies, point‑to‑point wire harnesses, wire routings, wire and fuse sizing, connection drawings, customer‑facing electrical diagrams (schematics) using a Product Data Management (PDM) tool.
• Develop/create/review/revise bills of material (BOM) and product definitions in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool to support re‑use of existing designs, manufacturing, quality, and service
• Develop solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required
• Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
• Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department
• Product and component verification activities
• Support manufacturing facilities with sustaining and cost reduction activities

Extended Responsibilities

• Assist in the Design, Review and Testing of new computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products
• Support lab and manufacturing facilities with prototypes and testing
• Work with software team to develop and verify CRAC system controls

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree from an accredited college or university
• 3+ years of career experience with electrically controlled products/appliances as an individual contributor
• Ability to work and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
• Demonstrated history of working with products/appliances with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
• Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA70), UL 508A

Preferred Requirements

• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB, UL60335-2-40, or equivalent CSA/UL standards
• VFD programming and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet
