Electonic Engineer—Saltillo
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation and upkeep of technical equipment on the production floor. This role is hands-on and requires strong technical skills to work directly with machinery, resolve issues, and improve equipment performance through preventive maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, not limited to administrative tasks, but fully capable of directly applying technical knowledge on the production floor. This includes:
- Design, build, and maintain systems that combine mechanical and electrical components for equipment and facilities
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and electrical systems to work together smoothly.
- Build electrical control panels and program PLCs.
- Wiring and connecting electronic modules (e.g., lasers, sensors).
- Perform electrical tasks with proper knowledge of polarity, voltage, and electronic components.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery directly on the production line.
- Document all technical work, including designs, tests, and modifications.
- Train and mentor technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Ensure machines run safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance routines.
- Track and reduce downtime on critical equipment.
- Manage spare parts and optimize their use.
- Handle machine modifications, layout changes, tool making or purchasing, and process improvements.
- Oversee the setup and evaluation of new machinery before production use.
- Improve machine reliability and lifespan.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow company values.
- Solve technical problems and document them for future reference.
- Develop solutions to extend machine life and improve performance.
Key Requirements
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (MMS) or similar platforms.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and personal leadership skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems using structured analysis.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Electromechanics or Mechatronics or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in maintenance department.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in using data for root-cause analysis and process improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills with a high comfortable level and utilization to accomplish tasks.
- English conversational level.
