Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Puebla, Mexico is seeking an electrical harness engineer to lead low-voltage architecture development for battery systems. You will work on harness schematics, PCBA interfaces, and sensor connections, partnering with vendors and internal teams to validate designs.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 7+ years of product development experience; energy storage or automotive is a plus.
• Hands-on experience designing electro‑mechanical systems and harnesses.
• Proficiency with 2D schematics and harness design tools (Zuken E3, SolidWorks, Catia, NX).
• Familiarity with component ratings for product certification (UL, NEC).

Responsabilidades

• Define harness requirements and component selection with Mechanical and Electrical teams.
• Create 2D schematics and draft harness assembly drawings for wiring harnesses.
• Collaborate with procurement to source materials from approved suppliers.
• Define ICDs between PCBA controllers and sensors/actuators.
• Coordinate with Mechanical for CAD routing, considering DFA and Poka Yoke.
• Support system-level bring-up and validation; apply 5D/8D problem solving.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to team and management.

Electrical harness engineer

JOB Description:

Role Description

We are looking for an electrical harness engineer who can play a key role in the development of our battery's low voltage architecture. You will be part of a rapidly growing team responsible for harness schematics, component selection, PCBA and sensor interfaces, as well as working with vendors and in-house test teams for validation testing. The staff harness engineer shall have had exposure to a broad range of technical challenges and methods in the context of product development, including sealed component selection, EMI mitigation, DFM/DFA considerations. Cross-team collaboration throughout the product development organization is a critical part of this role, so systems-level thinking and multidisciplinary engineering are key traits of a successful candidate.

What you'll do:

• Work cross-functionally with Mechanical, Electrical, Compliance engineers to define harness requirements and component selection
• Create and maintain 2D electrical single and multi-line schematics, draft harness assembly drawings for wire harness assemblies
• Work closely with procurement teams to source materials and components from approved suppliers.
• Define ICDs (interface control document) between PCBA controllers and devices (sensors, actuators, and other controllers).
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers on wire harness CAD routing in consideration of Poka Yoke and DFA.
• Hands on support of system level bring-up and validation, as well as 5D/8D experience.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and management

What you'll bring:

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering OR Mechatronics Engineering
• 7+ years' experience in product development (experience in energy storage or automotive is a plus)
• Hands-on experience designing and building electro-mechanical systems and harnesses
• Expertise with 2D (3D bonus) PLM, and Harness design software such as Zuken E3, SolidWorks, Catia or NX.
• Strong knowledge of component rating (voltage, temperature, IP etc.) in context of product certification (UL and NEC).
• Familiarity with creation of electrical schematics
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and familiarity with mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Bonus: direct PCBA & electronic circuitry design experience highly desired
