General Summary
Responsible for providing extensive expertise to service and support the glass manufacturing process by maintaining a variety of complex electrical and electromechanical systems and equipment under the philosophy of Reliability-Centered Maintenance, applying safety, quality service, environmental and labor standards in force as well as current regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research, develop, modify, design, evaluate, and test a variety of electric and electronic equipment and systems, including control and test equipment.
- Support the integration of new technology, techniques, and concepts to enhance functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce production costs.
- Diagnose failures, repair, and/or maintain electrical distribution systems and verify the functional status of their different equipment.
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Detect and correct faults, breakdowns, and deviations of electrical parameters (Harmonics, Dips, Swells, Transients, Power Factor, current unbalanced) that inflict Power Quality problems.
- Write reports by compiling data, analyzing, and summarizing information trends.
- Inspect and observe facilities to evaluate the efficacy and quality of electrical systems.
- Plan the service to be performed, defining the stages and activities with safety procedures, quality conditions, and compliance with electrical codes.
Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components as well as National Electrical Codes and regulations (C.F.E. and NOMs).
- Experience in medium and low voltage power distributions, instrumentation and control systems, automation, and the ability to perform load calculations and studies related to power distribution systems.
- PLC Programming (Allen Bradley).
- Ability to develop good technical writing and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong analytical skills to troubleshoot instrumentation.
- Proficient in computer-assisted software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
- Electric and electronic troubleshooting.
Position Type and Expected Work Hours
This position may require full-time work, with extended hours when necessary.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience in the maintenance of electrical and electromechanical systems.
