Corning Incorporated in Reynosa, Mexico, is seeking an EHS professional to support safety and environmental management across operations. You will handle chemical management, regulatory compliance, and incident investigations to improve health and safety performance.

The role focuses on implementing ISO 45001/14001 frameworks, conducting audits, delivering EHS training, and onboarding new staff, while coordinating with Operations and contractors to maintain safe, compliant facilities.

Formación

  • Technical degree in Environmental and Safety Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 1–3 years in a similar position within industry.
  • ISO 45001:2018 knowledge and safety mindset.

Responsabilidades

  • Support Safety and Environmental management systems in operations.
  • Provide GHS labels, SDS, and chemical control in operations.
  • Participate in incident investigations and CAPA actions.
  • Manage regulatory studies related to STPS, Civil Protection, SEMARNAT.
  • Perform fire extinguisher, eye wash, chemical cabinet inspections.
  • Assist in permits for high risk and non-routine activities.
  • Deliver EHS training to employees, contractors, visitors.
  • Onboarding for new salaried employees.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify hazards.
  • Prepare EHS awareness campaigns and KPI reporting.

Role Purpose

Provides semi-professional technical support in the field of environmental control. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Encompasses processes and infrastructure for the supply of water, disposal of waste, control of pollution, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Encompasses health and safety management systems and compliance with health and safety regulatory agency requirements, company requirements and facility requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support to Operations and Auxiliary areas in process related to Safety and Environmental management system
  • Chemical management and Hazard communication: provide GHS labels, SDS and control of chemicals in Operation and Support areas
  • Participate on incident investigations, root cause analysis and CAPA actions
  • Manage and perform regulatory studies related to STPS, Civil Protection, SEMARNAT
  • Execute inspections for fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, chemical cabinets, spill kits, ladders.
  • Evaluation, monitoring and signing of permits related to high risk and non-routine activities
  • EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Onboarding for new employees (salaried)
  • Perform Safety inspections to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
  • Management and execution of EHS awareness campaigns
  • Hazardous and non- hazardous management control
  • Manifest, logs and shipments
  • Monthly EHS inspections
  • Participate in the preparation of ISO 14001 & 45001 internal and external audits
  • Collaboration on GSS & ECC audit readiness (SME in some cases)
  • Elaboration of purchase requisitions related to EHS services and supplies
  • Perform hazard identification and risk assessments considering processes and machinery & equipment (JSA/
  • Emergency equipment control, inspections and acquisitions
  • Participate in management of change of specifics area requirements
  • Perform PSSR format
  • Participate in productivity and core team meetings
  • Elaborate presentations
  • Ergonomic assessments and follow up in corrective actions
  • PPE evaluation and monitoring
  • Contractor safety: pre- start up activities evaluation and awareness
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Education: Technical career in Environmental and Safety Engineering, Chemistry, or related field. Professional career (completed, unfinished or in progress) in Environmental and Safety Engineering, Chemistry or related field. 1- 3 years in similar position Industry expertise ISO 45001:2018 knowledge Excellent service attitude and high sense of urgency. Good performance under pressure
