Formación

  • Mínimo 2 años en posiciones de liderazgo en EHS.
  • 10 años de experiencia en salud y seguridad, preferiblemente en manufactura.

We are looking for an EHS Manager who will ensure that Schneider-Electric Monterrey 1 manufacturing location complies with all applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (e.g. State, Federal and Schneider-Electric).

This position requires a detailed knowledge and practical application of environment, health and safety regulations in Mexico and Nuevo Leon requirements.

This individual will:

  1. Provide EHS support to operations including engineering and manufacturing.
  2. Be an integral part of the Monterrey manufacturing operations and the Safety and Environment function and will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to establish the necessary programs to ensure excellent overall results in environment, health, safety and sustainability.
  3. Promote the importance of a strong environment, health and safety culture by providing training and establishing/directing EHS programs.

Responsibilities & Competencies:

  1. Ensure Schneider-Electric Monterrey 1 employees and operations maintain compliance with all environment, health, and safety regulations; and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
  2. Assist in maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluating data trending, and providing data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.
  3. Assist with the implementation of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures.
  4. Conduct environment, health and safety audits and risk assessments.
  5. Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained.
  6. Serve as the site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.
  7. Participate in the site’s Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities. Provide recommendations for improving EHS practices within the facility.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Minimum of 2 years EHS leadership positions’ experience.
  2. At least ten years’ experience in an environment, health and safety position, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal Education, Skills, and Behaviors:

  1. B.S. Degree in Environment, Health and Safety Management, engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience in electrical safety, machine guarding, training and ergonomics a plus.
  3. Advanced English (conversation and written).
  4. Desirable experience with IMSS (disabilities, work accidents) and STPS relations.
  5. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of environment, health and safety guidelines and regulations; a good working knowledge of health and safety engineering, and a highly refined understanding of the issues related to manufacturing and delivery/service environments.
  6. Knowledge of ISO 14000 & OHSAS standards.
