Role Purpose:

The role leads the LatAm Claims organization across all Lines of Business. The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and execution of Everest’s business strategy through the creation and delivery of Claims solutions, capabilities, and services. The role holder is a member of the Global Claims Executive team and partners closely with the Head of LatAm Insurance, senior underwriters and country leadership.


Key Accountabilities:

Strategic

  1. Leadership of Claims within LatAm.
  2. Provision of claims management services within LatAm.
  3. Develop and execute strategies to ensure that the LatAm Claims function meets business targets and plans.
  4. Contribute to the development of Global Claims Strategy.
  5. Personal oversight of large and complex losses and systemic claims issues.
  6. Partner with Regional and Product leadership to ensure effective communication and integration of Claims capabilities and insights to drive business plans and outcomes.
  7. Lead, build and manage Claims teams which will enhance the delivery of strategic goals.
  8. Market facing role, promoting Everest brand and capabilities within LatAm.
  9. Business development and execution of annual business planning.
  10. Provide services and Claims solutions to support client’s most complex risks and challenges.
  11. Broker and customer relationship management for LatAm to support the retention and acquisition of business.

Operational

  1. Provide management and oversight of LatAm Claims working closely with the Global Head of Claims and central Claims support functions.
  2. Ensure that team performance meets or exceeds corporate standards and customer needs.
  3. Ensure the capture, creation and analysis of data to ensure that claims performance and trends are understood and effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
  4. Effective management of expenses to ensure that Everest maintains its competitive advantage.
  5. Creation of annual Claims budget and forecast based on claim forecasts and staffing models.
  6. Monitor, report, and analyse Claims performance against plan / budget / forecast.
  7. Carry out Claim Quality Assurance processes as necessary to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  8. Manage the performance of TPAs and panel service providers and ensure that an audit strategy is in place and executed for service providers.
  9. Ensure all claims handlers are operating within their authorities.
  10. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and controls to meet all regulatory and corporate governance requirements, whether internal or external.

Skills & Abilities

  2. Experience of building and executing strategic plans to develop a Claims organization.
  3. Extensive knowledge and experience in managing claims portfolios across multiple lines of business.
  4. Exceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior management.
  5. Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholders.
  6. Ability to adapt and embrace change, solutions driven.

Professional qualifications and experience:

  1. A degree educated professional, preferably with Insurance or other qualifications relevant to the role.
  2. Demonstrable experience in commercial and specialty claims of multiple classes within LatAm.
  3. Demonstrable experience in progressive and innovative Claim solutions.
  4. Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and building Claims teams and competencies across multiple product lines.
