Role Overview

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, widely known for Ubuntu. We are seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.

Location: This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three regions: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You must be located in one of these regions to manage the respective team.

The Role:

• Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services.
• Assist customers with technical solutions, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Work remotely within a single major time zone.
• Mentor, coach, and provide career development feedback.
• Implement disciplined engineering processes and represent your team to stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements:

• Strong academic background and a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or similar.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Experience managing small teams and engaging with customers.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Result-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn.
