Meaningful Work From Day One

This position is responsible for overseeing corporate accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records and compliance with controls. The analyst will manage online bank statements, cash reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and related party documentation in line with tax and legal requirements. Additionally, the role involves preparing monthly journal entries as assigned by the Manager of Consolidation Accounting and Analytics.

What You Can Expect

  1. Integrity of Financial Records.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that Brown-Forman’s financial records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and management reporting.
  3. Finance/Accounting.
  4. This position will serve as a business partner to provide corporate accounting support to global accounting departments, as well as Treasury and Tax.
  5. Provide guidance on corporate accounting policies and procedures, and constantly look for ways to improve processes.
  6. Identify and implement measures to improve efficiency in current and future processes.
  7. Observes, applies and ensures US GAAP and appropriate internal controls are followed for the business.

Some specific accounting duties include:

  1. Monitor intercompany accounting, resolve reconciliation issues, and manage a minimum of annual intercompany settlements
  2. Ensure related party transactions are properly documented and are being accounted for appropriately
  3. Accounting for cash and certain treasury functions.
  4. Serve as primary accountant for Slane Homeplace, Jack Daniels Properties Incorporated, and Bourbon Street Cafe
  5. Act as primary cash accounts approver
  6. Help Consolidation Manager oversee and administer the account reconciliation and manual journal entry review processes, along with preparing and posting consolidated equity eliminations

Special projects may include involvement with: Government report compilation as needed, account reconciliation and journal entry approval process improvements, prepaid policy update and implementation, and petty cash policy update and implementation.

What You Bring to the Table

  1. A minimum of 4 years experience in finance / accounting
  2. Demonstrated working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting / analysis.
  3. Proficiency using the Google (Sheets, Slides, Docs) and Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Suites, including advanced spreadsheet tools.
  4. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Proven ability to complete high quality work product within established time frames. Work with ambiguous situations with little supervision.
  5. Strong analytical skills with ability to validate, analyze, and sort through large amounts of data and transform complex data into succinct, clear communications.
  6. Possess the ability, desire and skills necessary to interact with upper management and to advance within the organization.
  7. Strong oral and written English communication skills.
