Job Description

We are seeking a strategic Buyer with experience in sheet metal and detailed parts procurement to support a 12-month aerospace project. The ideal candidate will lead supplier localization efforts, manage inventory reduction initiatives, and coordinate supplier transitions while ensuring alignment with aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for sheet metal and detailed machined parts according to program and technical requirements.
• Identify, assess, and localize qualified suppliers in Mexico to meet cost, lead time, and compliance objectives.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and coordinate supplier transition processes, minimizing supply chain risk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, logistics) to ensure successful onboarding and ongoing performance of suppliers.
• Implement inventory reduction strategies to improve working capital and optimize lead times.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement of sheet metal components and detailed parts, ideally within the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry.
• Strong background in supplier localization, negotiation, and inventory optimization.
• Experience managing supplier transitions while ensuring uninterrupted production.
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Jacareí, Brazil.
  
  

Educational Background

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Preferred: Additional training or certification in strategic sourcing, aerospace procurement, or supply chain management.
