Descripción de la vacante

A leading global development company seeks a Project Engineer to evaluate supplier performance and ensure quality standards in the automotive industry. This role requires extensive experience in manufacturing processes, quality tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers. The position is temporary for one month, with travel availability within Mexico required.

Formación

  • 12+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • Experience with product/process audits according to international standards.
  • Certified Quality Auditor under ISO 19011 or VDA 6.3 is desirable.

Responsabilidades

  • Evaluate supplier performance to meet customer quality targets.
  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis.
  • Participate in regular meetings to provide status updates.

Description

  1. Evaluate the supplier’s performance to meet customer quality targets.
  2. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure all activities are completed and deviations are avoided.
  3. Review supplier manufacturing processes and identify potential issues.
  4. Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and follow-up/validation of actions.
  5. Monitor production floor to track progress of actions and ensure proper implementation.
  6. Identify and promptly report potential risks.
  7. Gather information and ensure all documentation is uploaded into the appropriate platforms.
  8. Participate actively in regular meetings to provide status updates to top management and during project reviews.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  2. 12+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry with knowledge in production, quality, and manufacturing processes (metal parts, steel).
  3. Experience with product/process audits according to international standards (VDA, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 9001).
  4. Strong knowledge of manufacturing process evaluation and root cause analysis tools.
  5. Good knowledge of quality processes and quality tools.
  6. Proficiency in measurement techniques, GD&T.
  7. Certified Quality Auditor under ISO 19011 or VDA 6.3 (desirable).
  8. Experience handling KPIs and reporting.
  9. Ability to gather technical information, lessons learned, concepts, and customer requirements.
  10. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (lean manufacturing).
  11. Availability to travel within Mexico.
  12. Fluent in English.
  13. This position is for 1 month.
