The Product Sales Sr Supervisor provides leadership and supervisory responsibility for a medium-sized operational/administrative team of clerical/support employees. They possess a good understanding of procedures and concepts within their technical/subject area and have basic knowledge of other areas to understand how they relate. They understand how their team and area integrate with others to achieve the objectives of the subfunction/job family. They aim to improve process efficiencies supporting unit objectives. They have a basic conceptual/practical understanding of policies relevant to the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are necessary to exchange potentially complex or sensitive information. They typically handle variable issues with possible broader business impacts. They influence decisions through advice, counsel, facilitating services, or joint accountability for volume, quality, and timeliness of results. They do not have direct responsibility for financial or resource planning. Their work generally impacts their own team and other related teams. They have full supervisory responsibilities, including performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and directing daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the sales team in selling products to the existing customer base through portfolio analysis of insurance and investment holdings, needs analysis, and customer risk profiling.
  2. Disseminate information on industry trends, financial markets, and competitor products, and analyze this information for meaningful sales engagement.
  3. Develop the training roadmap for relationship managers and ensure the successful completion of training certifications related to regulations, knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits.
  4. Ensure customer engagement by organizing meetings and discussing product offerings to raise awareness.
  5. Conduct joint sales drills with relationship managers to facilitate appropriate product purchases by customers.
  6. Enhance the knowledge level of Branch Managers.
  7. Act as the compliance gatekeeper in the region/branch, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  8. Be vigilant for potential sales complaints, cancellations, surrender ratios, lapse rates, and sales complaints.
  9. Highlight potential financial, regulatory, and credit risks to the franchise.
  10. Assess risks appropriately in business decisions, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, following policies, applying ethical judgment, escalating issues, and supervising others to maintain standards.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of financial sales experience preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in sales.
  • Knowledge of financial products.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the Government Sector (desirable).
