In Summary

We are seeking a Lead Monitoring Engineer to collaborate with our SRE and Development teams. The role involves reviewing and optimizing our monitoring tools to improve workflows and increase system availability by proactively identifying trends.

The Job

1. Work with other teams to ensure monitoring tools and processes are fit for purpose.
2. Coach team members on effective monitoring of services, systems, and business metrics.
3. Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams.
4. Standardize and automate monitoring across multiple environments.
5. Review costs regularly to prevent overspending.
6. Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' their products end-to-end.

What You Already Have

• Deep knowledge of monitoring tools, with DataDog as our primary platform.
• Experience working with both cloud and physical data centers.
• Skills in managing on-call rotations, using tools like OpsGenie.
• Ability to integrate agents and monitoring libraries for better visibility.
• Understanding of metrics, logs, and their cross-relations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
