The Manager, ER's primary responsibility is to lead the Employee Relations function for a 4,000+ employee population within our manufacturing facility. This role will lead a team of 2 Senior ER Specialists and partner closely with HRBP and HR Shared Services to drive ER execution and strategy. The role involves managing labor and industrial employee relations, monitoring compliance with Mexican Norms, General Conditions of Work, Federal Labor Law, and other relevant regulations. It is responsible for developing, interpreting, and recommending program goals, policies, procedures, and courses of action to maintain a positive work environment, as well as training and developing a team of specialists.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Employee Relations specialists, providing coaching, guidance, and feedback.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders to improve ER management processes, conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage relations with law firms to respond to legal employee claims, disputes, and conduct investigations.
  • Oversee investigations of ER issues, including escalated complaints, hotline calls, and incidents related to unfair practices, harassment, discrimination, etc., using appropriate methodologies.
  • Represent the company in legal matters before authorities such as STPS, IMSS, INFONAVIT, and others.
  • Conduct investigations related to violations of the Code of Conduct and Ethics, presenting findings and action plans to legal departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Laws, Business, Psychology, or related field is required.
  • Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, Labor Law, or Organizational Development is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading an ER function, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Over 10 years of HR experience, including 5+ years focusing on ER issues.
  • Experience building and refining ER processes.
  • Knowledge of Mexican labor laws and norms.
  • Strong influence, coaching, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
