Job Description

The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education is seeking camp counselors for the Find Your Future summer education camp from Tuesday, May 27 until Saturday, May 31, 2025, on the OU-Norman campus. Tuesday will be a mandatory 4-hour training session with the camp beginning the evening of Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Camp counselors may be responsible for living in the residence hall and providing overnight supervision of approximately 25-50 high school students.

Camp Counselors will be responsible for the safety and well-being of all camp participants, leading participants from dorms to meals in Couch Cafeteria, and escorting participants from dorms to classroom buildings. Duties may include classroom assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Days and hours of work are Tuesday through Saturday; work schedule will vary depending on student status and availability. Some evening, overnight, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Approximately 20-40 hours of work are required to meet the needs of the camp.
  • To take an active role in the participants' extracurricular activities such as basketball, games, swimming, and social times in the evening, as well as during mealtimes.
  • Assist with supervision during recreation periods, program activities and trips, registration, and move-out procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of all policies and rules and assist in their enforcement.
  • Must be able to be on call during the summer camp's operating hours.
  • High level of maturity; ability to be self-disciplined and able to work on a team.
  • Must complete a minors-on-campus training prior to the start of camp and required to have a background check.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach current Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2025 class schedule.
