What you will do?

Under the general direction of the Lean Manufacturing Engineer, develop and implement new processes and machinery, standard times, and manufacturing procedures for the fabrication and assembly areas. The primary objectives are to ensure processes are safe, efficient, waste-free, and to promote continuous improvement and cost reduction of current processes. You will also be responsible for the successful implementation of new products and major design changes, aiming to meet on-time delivery, quality, cost, and safety targets. Additionally, you will maintain the current plant layout and evaluate future growth and capacity optimization needs. Utilize our team’s talents to produce at customer demand pace, using optimal resources and achieving the lowest cost with Six Sigma quality across the entire value stream.

How you will do it
  • Follow JCMS as our business best practices guideline.
  • Design and provide production line equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality standards compliance.
  • Determine standard times for assembling each new product and report to the Engineering Department.
  • Responsible for selecting and implementing new processes, machines, and tooling to support NPIs or business strategy capacity adjustments.
  • Assess and report manufacturing capabilities within the plant, improving utilization and capacity of machining centers.
  • Develop and update standard work procedures, layout designs, process flows, time studies, line balancing, playbooks, and routings (SAP).
  • Develop and implement new methods or technologies to improve processes or establish new processes aligned with safety, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure efficiency targets are met during ramp-up phases of new implementations.
  • Select and supervise contractors for process implementation, layout changes, and improvements, ensuring safety compliance.
  • Apply DMAIC methodology and Lean tools to lead or support process improvement projects, enhancing site KPIs and problem-solving using tools like the 4-panel charts.
  • Support Manufacturing & CI initiatives, including best practice implementations.
  • Collaborate with team members as a Focus Group to quickly resolve problems and improve processes.
  • Use manufacturing and industrial engineering knowledge to create data bases for current state analysis and decision-making support.
  • Lead productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate Management of Change (MoC) approvals for manufacturing projects.
  • Participate in updating PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Analyze and support CARs for new product implementation or major process changes.
  • Lead 5S initiatives by training teams and implementing standard work.
  • Impact conversion costs through project implementation, using standard tracking (CI TRAC) to contribute to savings goals.
  • Contribute to savings projects aligned with financial team targets.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, and Cost.
  • Conduct Value Stream Analyses (Current and Future State Mapping).
  • Coach team members on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Implement actions from Gemba Walks, participate in risk assessments, and support EHS programs.
  • Maintain safety policies, health, and environmental standards at work.
  • Participate in training programs.
  • Identify and correct unsafe acts, recognize safe behaviors, and perform safety audits, including 5S and LPA.
What are we looking for?
  • Degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing engineering, lean principles, and project management, with at least 3 years of experience in harness assembly industry.
  • Preferred Green Belt certification.
  • Basic statistical knowledge with application experience in product and process improvements.
  • Experience with SPC and general manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MiniTab, Power BI is desirable.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Availability to work Monday to Saturday, with shifts from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
  • Effective communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
  • Strong leadership and program management skills, capable of managing both vertically and horizontally.
