Summary

The ME/IE Manager is the site technology leader of Jabil’s manufacturing processes and systems, designed to deliver superior performance and operational efficiency. This role supports business development with current and potential customers and involves developing and implementing both site-specific and global ME/IE strategies. The manager is responsible for establishing manufacturing methods and processes, leading and motivating a team of engineers, and reviewing the utilization of equipment, personnel, and materials to ensure efficiency. Providing exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Management
  2. Recruit, interview, and hire engineers across various disciplines.
  3. Coach staff and monitor team performance, fostering continuous improvement.
  4. Manage team development, create training programs, and establish succession plans.
  5. Set clear goals, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and recognize achievements.
  6. Facilitate effective communication within the department and with other teams.
  7. Functional Management
  8. Align strategies with corporate and global directions, and develop departmental strategies accordingly.
  9. Identify cost reduction opportunities and monitor departmental costs and trends.
  10. Prepare forecasts, anticipate future requirements, and analyze trends.
  11. Technical Management
  12. Drive continuous improvement using metrics and trend analysis.
  13. Assess data gathering methods, ensure procedures are efficient, and support project engineering.
  14. Lead equipment evaluations, explore new processes, and support design for manufacturability.
  15. Ensure adherence to safety, health, and company policies, and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
Minimum Requirements

Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering philosophies and processes. Proven leadership, communication, and business analysis skills. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in electronics manufacturing, including 2-3 years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
