Part of a global team, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer to work primarily with AWS, Azure, and GCP technologies to enable project, product, and platform teams to bring value to AstraZeneca through the use of Cloud.
We’re seeking someone who can collaborate across various teams – Architects, Product Owners, Data Scientists, and Software Developers – to engineer high-quality cloud solutions.
There is also a focus on enabling teams to deliver independently, incorporating automation, self-service, guardrails, and integrating process and governance into workflows and technology.
Essential Requirements:
- Engineering
- Deep experience with setup, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud services
- Proficient in designing scalable and resilient cloud architectures
- Experience with architecting solutions using cloud-native services and technologies
- Expertise in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) for automating infrastructure provisioning
Deployment
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Experience developing scripts to streamline deployment processes
- Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Security and Compliance
- Good understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
- Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments
- Familiarity with identity and access management in cloud platforms
Optimization
- Experience optimizing cloud resources for cost efficiency
- Ability to identify and address performance bottlenecks
- Expertise in designing scalable architectures for varying workloads
- Knowledge of auto-scaling configurations and strategies
Troubleshooting
- Ability to lead incident response efforts for outages or security incidents
- Strong diagnostic skills for root cause analysis
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues
Desirable Requirements:
- Skill in writing modular and reusable infrastructure code
- Experience working in agile teams using Jira and Confluence
Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work closely with developers, operations, and stakeholders
- Effective communication of design decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve objectives
- Experience working in agile environments using SCRUM and SAFe methodologies
