Job Opportunity: Material Planner

Objective: Plan and control the supply of materials in quantity, quality, and timing for production lines or work areas according to MRP processes, optimizing resources to meet the Master Production Schedule.

Activities:

  • Develop material planning based on forecasts and master production plans to prevent obsolescence and overstocking.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers to ensure timely, quality supply of materials.
  • Follow up on purchase orders and coordinate shipments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, delivery times, MOQ, and improve productivity.
  • Analyze coverage to detect future shortages.
  • Determine the best sourcing method based on supplier type and material nature.
  • Review key performance indicators of the business and planning department.
  • Authorize changes in delivery plans or cancellation of purchase orders.
  • Establish strategies for inventory reduction.
  • Manage urgent orders with suppliers to cover unexpected demand variations.
  • Implement suitable inventory replenishment systems like reorder points, safety stock, kan-ban, etc.

Requirements:

  • Advanced English proficiency (non-negotiable).
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, with a degree or certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Experience in inventory management.
