Role & Responsibilities
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the technical maintenance team, supervising their activities, and maintaining operational equipment related to plant operations and systems facilities across the plant. The supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Personnel Management
- Ensure all team members comply with PPE and safety standards, promoting a safety-first culture.
- Lead and promote team development activities such as training and empowerment, fostering an empathetic and respectful environment.
- Approve overtime as per policies.
- Monitor and report performance indicators like MTBF, MTTR, MTTF.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain proper stock of critical spare parts according to OEM recommendations.
- Respond promptly to service requests from other departments.
- Administer team discipline following company policies and procedures.
- Track and act on KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.
Department Administration- Monitor attendance and discipline.
- Review maintenance routines and equipment status periodically.
- Oversee consumables and spare parts requisitions and purchases.
- Manage departmental budget and spending.
- Ensure a safe working environment through housekeeping, safety audits, and meetings.
- Review shift logs daily and address abnormalities.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to improve KPIs in line with continuous improvement philosophy.
- Participate in departmental meetings and provide necessary information.
Labor Relations- Interpret and address issues related to the collective labor agreement.
- Proactively manage potential labor issues to prevent conflicts.
Continuous Improvement- Contribute ideas for reducing energy, water, and production costs using QCI programs.
- Suggest improvements to increase equipment availability and productivity.
- Collaborate with other departments to foster a team-oriented environment.
Job Requirements
- Electromechanical Engineer or Robotics Degree; Engineer Degree Certificate and 'Cedula' are required.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in operations maintenance within production and facilities.
- Fluent in professional Spanish and English.
- Willing to travel less than 10%.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage teams of 10+ members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow written instructions and communicate effectively.
- Flexible to work any shift and available for overtime as needed.
